Lake Pend Oreille is almost 50 miles long! There is a wide variety of fish available including  kamloops, whitefish, cutthroat, brown trout, bull trout, cutbows and mackinaw, large and small mouth bass, crappie, pumpkin seed sunfish, perch, bullhead peno, squawfish, sculpin and many types of smaller minnows.

Kamloop Trout

The Kamloop is actually a Gerrard Rainbow, and has inhabited the lake for over 50 years. Due to it's huge Salmon Size, it is by far the most popular and sought after fish in the lake.

In 1995, Jim Eversole caught the largest game fish ever taken from Lake Pend Oreille, a 43 lb. 6 oz. mackinaw also known as the lake trout. The lake also claims the world record for a rainbow trout, a 37-pounder caught in 1947 by Wes Hamlet.
