Mrs. Sharon A. Nale

1. How long have you been teaching?

I graduated from Ohio State University in 1966, and started teaching in March of that year. With the exception of 8 years off from teaching (in the 70's while my children were young), I've been teaching ever since.

2. Where and what grades have you taught?

I've taught in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Idaho, and have had teaching experience with every grade except 4th grade.

3. What is your teaching style?

I don't feel bound to any one style or method. The method I choose depends on the curriculum objective and the mix of students and abilities. Students never know from week to week whether they will find their desks in rows, quads, or other arrangements. I like to use a variety of methods to get students to think critically about American history and their responsibility as citizens.

4. Would you say you are a "strict" teacher?

I would say I am a firm but fair teacher. I have class rules, and I expect my students to follow them. I use the "Time To Teach" plan introduced school-wide last year.

5. How long have you taught at the Middle School?

I've been at SMS since 1992. I've taught math, World History, and American History.

Please contact me any time you have a question or concern about your child's progress in my class.
